KFL grateful that AG Morrison resigns

(Remarks attributable to Executive Director Mary Kay Culp: 913-406-4446  culpmk@aol.com)

Morrison's resignation is welcomed. The office of the Attorney General is not overseen by any authority, and thus the AG must possess the highest integrity, intellectual clarity and emotional stability. Recent events indicate that Paul Morrison has been deficient in all those areas for some time.

We deeply grieve the pain that the Morrison family has endured. Unfortunately, we also grieve the justice denied when one industry is treated as above the law and is unwilling to submit to even the most basic oversight.

Kansas late-term abortionist Tiller spent $1 million to elect Morrison.  As a result, Morrison put abortion interests above protecting the public.

--He forced the dismissal of a legitimate appeal to reinstate 30 criminal charges against Tiller
--He tried to silence an impeccable witness from revealing how  late-term abortions are illegally obtained for trivial reasons
--He issued a misinterpretation of Kansas late-term abortion law and claimed Tiller's offenses were limited to a dispute about professional affiliation
--He preemptively  issued a clean sweep "absolution" for Planned Parenthood

If the public feels deceived, it is because they were in fact purposely deceived by a million dollar campaign carried out by an abortion industry intent on avoiding even the most basic of scrutiny, at all costs.

Someone needs to get to the bottom of whether or not Morrison improperly interfered with the abortion cases of either Tiller or Planned Parenthood.

Kansans for Life prays that the next Attorney General will objectively enforce the laws and not protect the special interests of the abortion industry.  Given that industry's  financial support for Governor Kathleen Sebelius, we are cautious at best.
